Be thankful

They tell me to smile

not to be so dang sad

I put on my mask

hide every feeling I've had

but you never feel

the pain that I have

and you know what?

you should thank God for that!

So before you judge me

be thankful instead

because if you were me

You might wish you were dead!

I vanished

like a soft whisper

that on one heard

and opened the door

there was something in your eyes

I never seen before

but I was wrong

they told a lie

you didn't cry

no questions why

I walked thru the door

and walked away

you never once

asked me to stay

I've turned around

you've closed the door

you just couldn't take it

You saw me in my cage

and opened the door

I spread my wings

and upwards I soared

I wanted freedom
