Shards of Silver

Shards of Silver 7

They Talked all night.

Olivias whole world seem to have been turned upside down.

Was any of this real?

It couldn't be?

Could it?

But she still had the pattern on her back, and the fingernails was really hard and sort of Claw like.

So who was she?

What was she?

And what would she do with whatever this is?

Magic or whatever just doesn't seem to fit in this modern life.

Not in her life anyway.

Maybe if she lived on the country side or in the woods or whatever. Closer to nature.

But in the city?

Running her small radio show?

Writing songs?

She was the wrong person for this.

Getting back on the DOM was such a relief. This she knew. This was real.

Driving for days she finally reached the edge of the woods.

Even here she could see that the damage from the weather was vast. Passing all sorts or warningsigns along the road she entered the forest.

After just a few minutes it was like she had entered an completely different world.

Even on her bike with her helmet on she could hear the difference, smell it.. heck, even taste it.

Later that night she found a clearing next to a stream so she decided to stay the night.

Soon the tent was up and she had started a careful small fire.

After having some hot coffee she laid on her back and just watched the stars.

Laying there and just relaxing and listening to the sounds of the night, she was suddenly aware of someone looking at her.

She sat up just to find herself staring in the eyes of an HUGE wolf. It was just looking at her and sniffing the air.

Olivia was so scared she didn't know what to do.

And then the wolf laid down beside her and put it's big head in her lap.

Since she didn't know what else to do she started to pet the big animal and it gave a big sigh of relaxation.

And so they stayed.

Finally she got up and went into the tent to sleep.

The animal didn't seem interested to joint here but laid outside the opening as it was keeping watch.

Later in the night she woke up to something that sounded like a horrible fight.

And then she could hear the wolf howling in pain.

Teary eyed she started calling for it.

Slowly and bleeding slightly she (Olivia could now tell that is was a she) limped towards Olivia. Softly whimpering in pain. Olivia rushed out and began to examine the wolf. Not that she knew what to do anyway. With some firstaid in her bags she did her best to clean the wounds that thankfully didn't seem that deep. What was she suppose to do now? She couldn't take it to a vet.

The wolfe licked her in the face and then fell asleep. Olivia sat by her side all through the night. Worrying about the animal but also about what kind of animal could have done this to such a big wolf. And was the wolf protecting her? Why?

The sounds that the forest made suddenly seemed threatening.

Exhausted and without realising it she fell asleep.

The nex day she woke to the sounds of birds in the sky and the wind playing with the trees.

And the wolf was gone.

Olivia felt abandoned for a moment.

She took a look around but the wolf was simply gone.

So there was nothing to do but to pack up and continue the journey.

And then she reached one of the Silver Lakes. It was even more breathtaking than she could remember from when she was a child. The water looked like melted Silver in the sunlight. Water lilies decorating the shoreline and fish jumping, creating circles on the surface.

This was the place. She would stay here.

Sitting by the water, admiring the surroundings, the Snow Magpie landed on her shoulder.

-Hi little one.. What are you doing all the way out here?

The bird didn't answer but leaned against her and cawed softly.

-I'll bet you like it here too. Far way from the big city noises and smells.

The night was silent and uneventful, to her disappointment almost. She had sort of hoped the wolf would join her.

The next few days she enjoyed by walking and enjoying the tranquility, and in the nights she sat by the fire and looked at the stars.

She could breath again. Here whole body seemed more relaxed. The weight of the big city life had left from her shoulders.

But at the same time she missed the noises, her show and Limbo.

This might be a piece of heaven, but it wasn't home.

She wanted to go home.

That night it started to thunder.

Lightning flashed and thunder rolled so she almost thought there was an eathquake. But there was no rain. No rain meant a bigger risk for more fires. She sat by the fire looking at show nature created, when she saw someone staring at her. First she thought that the wolfe had return, but she quickly realised she was wrong.

And then the Wilde one attacked.

It was smaller than her. But strong. And ferocious.

She used her lenght and her claws. This MONSTER was out to kill her. And then from nowhere the wolfe came running out form the woods to help her. And togeather they fought the monster off.

The wolfe looked at her, and slowly started go to the forest. Waiting.. looking and walked some more. It wanted her to follow. So she did.

It was dark but she could still make out the siluette of the wolfe and Snow sat on her shoulder. Cawing when she hesitated, moving her on.

And then the forest opened up.

It was a huge clearing with some tents and huts.

A man walked up to her.

He was tall with dark hair and slightly pointy ears. He had no shirt so she could see that from his neck and onto his arm he had almost the same pattern as she.

He was also atleast part Ables.

-Olivia, he greeted her with his arms open.

-Manechke she smiled and fell into his arms.

-You know who I am? he looked at her.

-No I didn't. But my soul does.

He smiled at her. It looks good on you he said looking at her bracelet.

-You sent it to me? I thought you would have one too?

-No. The bracelet only splits if and when you find your soulmate.

-Haven't i? She looked at him. Knowing it was so.

-Maybe. But for now this bracelet is for you alone. And you might need it. There are troubling times ahead.

-It seems my world has changed so much.

-The world will never be the same. For anyone. The awakening has begun.

And from the forest more people appeared.
